~ Day 5 ~
This is getting a little easier - I feel really great, overall.
I did not get up really early to workout. With the workout on tap today, I planned for the afternoon because I have a hard time doing cardio when I first wake up. Resistance I can do in the morning, but cardio - I need to be completely warmed up. Still, though, the alarm went off at 6:30 and I did not want to get up. But, I did! Around 10:30, while visiting my awesome friend, Dana, I started feeling pretty tired and I kept yawning.
After two spaced out snacks, as opposed to lunch, I felt more energized and more awake. While the girls were having their quiet time, I did Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit. Yes, it is as hard as it sounds. I had a TOUGH time and I was cursing Shaun T the whole 41 minutes...well, except for during the stretch at which time I was grateful to him. I was winded and had to rest a few times (yay for child's pose) to catch my breath before continuing on. I am still sore from ChaLEAN on Monday and my quads, calves & triceps were screaming at me during my workout today. I did feel really good afterwards though. I cannot wait for the 60 day results and see how far I will have come with my cardio.
My stomach looks much less bloated than it did a few days ago. And I am starting to appreciate more the taste of fresh veggies now that the sugar is working its way out of my system. Fresh foods are tasting much better to me. I am really looking forward to trying more of the recipes provided to us. However, I want to make sure I do not waste any food & produce, so I am only making one recipe at a time and making sure to use the leftovers before I move onto a new recipe.
Here's my day in food:
Breakfast ~ 1/4 cup organic steel cut oats with 1T unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze and 1/2T organic natural peanut butter.
Snack ~ 4 strawberries and 10 raw almonds
Snack ~ celery, carrots & yellow peppers with hummus
Dinner ~ veggie salad with 1T Braggs vinaigrette and bowl of smoky bean chili with tempeh
Snack ~ Larabar (Peanut Butter) - argh!! I really intended to have an apple with almond butter but time got away from me and I caved for the Larabar. Good thing is it's vegan and gluten free - but the bad thing is the (natural) sugars at night before bed.
Water ~ 110 oz
Workout ~ Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit
And, the pictures of the day!
Breakfast ~ sounded a little better than it tasted, to be honest. |
